PRO-1 deploys 5,000 cops, force multipliers for summer vacation, elections
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Police Regional Office-1 deployed 5,000 police personnel and force multipliers in the Ilocos region to secure three major events – Holy Week, summer vacation, and the mid-term elections.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, PRO-1 chief, said they have activated the Ligtas Sumvac security plan and ordered maximized police visibility in police assistance desks especially in major public transport terminals, airports, churches, shopping malls, and other places of convergence.
The PRO-1 is on heightened alert status to ensure the peaceful observance of the Holy Week and the fair and orderly conduct of election-related activities.
Evangelista thanked lawmen for their efforts and sacrifices and reminded them to remain non-partisan in the elections.
He urged the people to follow the law and observe precautionary measures against criminals.
