VCPS Chief Col. Nixon Cayaban identified the suspects as "Mac," 30, a resident of Barangay 160, Caloocan City; "Tat," 21, from Barangay Bignay; and "Gab," 49, and "Leo," 47, both from Barangay Veinte Reales.

The victim was "Jan," 22, from Barangay Maysan, Valenzuela City.

Based on the police report, the incident occurred around 4:32 p.m. along West Service Road in Barangay Parada. The victim told authorities that he noticed the four suspects onboard two motorcycles following him.

One of the suspects got off his motorcycle, aimed a gun at the victim, and took his motorcycle.

Officers from Substation-1 were patrolling the area at the time and were able to respond quickly. The victim immediately reported the crime, and the police quickly relayed the details to the Valenzuela Station Tactical Operation Center (STOC).

STOC promptly alerted all police units to launch a dragnet operation, providing descriptions of the suspects’ clothing and motorcycles.

VCPS-Substation 6 Chief Capt. Doddie Aguirre said that while conducting their Oplan Sita operation on Snake Road in Barangay Lingunan, his team received the report about the incident.

"Itinuloy po namin ‘yung pag-Oplan Sita namin at inabangan po ‘yung nireport na motor at ‘yung sinabing mga suot ng mga suspek (We continued our Oplan Sita operation and monitored the reported motorcycle and the clothing described for the suspects)," he said.

Just minutes later, officers spotted motorcycles matching the descriptions provided by the victim.

The clothing worn by the suspects also matched the descriptions.

"Bale tatlong motorsiklo na po sila nung nasita namin kasi sinakyan na po nung Mac (suspek) ‘yung motor ng biktima na nakuha nila (They had three motorcycles when we apprehended them because the suspect Mac was already riding the victim's motorcycle)," Aguirre added.

Police recovered an unlicensed .38 caliber firearm with five live rounds and four plastic sachets of shabu from Mac.

Two sachets containing 3.82 grams of shabu valued at P25,976 were seized from Gab and Leo.

The arrested suspects will face multiple charges, including violations of Republic Act No. 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code for Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority.

They will also face charges under Section 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Possession of Dangerous Drugs Act, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act, in relation to B.P. 881 Omnibus Election Code. (Jhoana Mae Delfin)
