Rescuers first located 58-year-old Torsten Martin Groschupp, a German, and 63-year-old Alexander Radvanyi, a  British, in Sitio Ginsayaw, Barangay Malabo, Valencia at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 21, adjacent to Sitio Lunas, Barangay Malabo, where they departed for a trek to Twin Lakes in Sibulan, Negros Oriental on Wednesday morning.

Polinar said the two hikers were on their way back to their starting point in Sitio Lunas, Barangay Malabo, when they met authorities conducting search and rescue operations on Friday.

He added that they were advised to rest at home after they were checked by doctors.

Polinar said that they did not reach Twin Lakes, and decided to return.

However, their four companions decided to hike towards Amlan which is far from Barangay Malabo.

Polinar added that inclement weather contributed to the slippery trail.

All six of them have been accounted, according to Polinar.
