The Parañaque City government signed a Memorandum of Agreement with four fast food chains aimed at giving employment to qualified senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in their dining establishments in the city on Tuesday, March 18.

The MOA signing was led by Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez with representatives from Jollibee Foods Corporation, Chowking, Greenwich Philippines, and Burger King.

Olivarez said senior citizens 60 years old and above may qualify to apply and work in any of the four fast food chains including those who are deaf and mute.

He said applicants need to secure a certification that they are fit to work once they pass the physical, medical, and laboratory examinations to be issued by the Ospital ng Parañaque 1 and 2 and the City Health Office.

Applicants also need to submit a recommendation letter from the Public Employment and Services Office (PESO), their resume, Mayor’s Permit, police clearance or NBI clearance, birth certificate, Senior Citizen Identification Card or PWD Identification Card.

Olivarez said senior citizens and PWDs may also apply to work at Shakey's Philippines and Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken because the city government still has a valid MOA with these establishments which was signed in 2023.

He said giving senior citizens and PWDs a chance to work is part of the city government's commitment to continue to reintegrate them into the community.
