Former “Dream Maker” contestant Matt Cruz is lovestruck in his new pop R&B single “Down Bad.”

“Tungkol ito sa mga taong sobrang in love na handang gawin ang lahat para mapansin at makuha ang atensyon ng taong gusto nila. (It's about people who are so in love that they are willing to do anything to be noticed and get the attention of the person they love)," he said.

Matt is thankful for his new beginning as a solo artist under ABS-CBN Music’s Old School Records label.

“Sobrang grateful at blessed sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa career ko and hindi ko ‘to magagawa lahat kundi dahil sa mga taong naniniwala sa akin. (I'm so grateful and blessed for what's happening in my career right now and I couldn't have done it all without the people who believe in me)," he shared.

“Down Bad” was composed and produced by Kiko “Kikx” Salazar.

Matt started his career by appearing on various reality-survival shows, including ABS-CBN’s “Dream Maker,” where he became one of the finalists. He released his first single “Missin’” in 2022. His musical influences include Gary Valenciano and Chris Brown.
