Boracay earns spots in 2 international travel lists


ILOILO CITY – World-famous Boracay Island has earned a spot in two separate international travel’s list.

The 2025 DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Award named the resort island in Malay town, Aklan province as the 3rd Best Island Destination in Asia. Also included in DestinAsian list is Palawan.

Late February, Boracay’s White Beach was named by Travel + Leisure magazine as one of the 15 Best Beaches in the World.

“Located on the small island of Boracay in the Philippines, the aptly named White Beach is a picture-perfect oasis lined with palm trees, bars, hotels, and more,” Travel + Leisure wrote.

“Peak season runs from December to May, and the nightlife is hopping,” Travel + Leisure added.

This is the second time the White Beach was included in an international travel list this year.

TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, also included the White Beach as among the 10 best beaches in the country this year.

The local government unit of Malay town, Aklan province welcomed the latest international citation.

“Boracay Island continues to captivate travelers worldwide,” the Malay LGU Tourism Office said in a statement on Sunday, March 9.
