A day after NCAA Season 99 Finals MVP James Payosing opted to leave San Beda for University of the Philippines, Aldous Torculas likewise made his decision to become a Red Lion, he announced Friday, March 7.

Torculas, who was part of the Fighting Maroons’ championship run in UAAP Season 87, expressed his interest to bring his talent to San Beda, which, according to him, has the winning culture.
"San Beda ang napili ko kasi kasi nakikita ko na may winning culture sila," said Torculas.
Also a factor to his move was head coach Yuri Escueta, who he thinks would help him become a better player.
“Nakausap ko rin yung mga kaibigan ko sa Beda about coach Yuri and sa tingin ko matutulungan nya ako para ma-develop pa,” he added.
Torculas' transfer is a big boost for the Red Lions after the departure of Payosing.
The versatile forward, however, will serve a one-year residency before he can suit up for San Beda where he has two eligible years left.
