The fatalities were a 78-year-old man from Barangay West Bayan Park, a 57-year-old man from Barangay Kias, and a nine-year-old boy from Barangay Pacdal.

The CHSO said the number is four percent lower than the 178 cases.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong and City Health Officer Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes urged barangays to conduct massive and simultaneous search and destroy operations to eliminate the breeding grounds of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.

Magalong said there are still months before the start of the rainy which is the critical season for dengue fever but preventive programs are needed to avoid the risk of outbreaks.
