Cops probe lady doctor’s murder in Naga City


Police are investigating the murder of a lady doctor in Naga City on Sunday, Feb. 16.

The Naga City police has created said a special investigation task group to ensure the speedy investigation of the death of Dr. Rajean Romualdez, 36.

Police chief Police Col. Erwin Rebellon said the SITG is gathering statements from the victim's family and acquaintances. 

Police are also collecting closed-circuit television footages from establishments and residences in the area.

Lawmen are looking for a person of interest. He was the last individual seen with the victim, a chief resident of Bicol Medical Center here.

The BMC mourned the death of Romualdez.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our former Department of OB-Gyne Chief Resident, Dr. Rajean Monnette Romualdez,” the BMC said. 🕊️

“She was a hardworking, compassionate, and kind leader whose dedication to both her patients and colleagues left a lasting impact.”

“Her empathy, work ethic, and inspiring presence will be deeply missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Dr. Romualdez's legacy of excellence and kindness will continue to inspire us all,” the BMC added.

Romualdez’s relatives have arrived in Naga City for her wake.

Her relatives have appealed to the person of interest to shed light on her death.

A congressional candidate has offered a P1-million reward for the arrest of Romualdez’s assailant.

Romualdez was found dead with a bullet wound in the head in a parked car on Princeton St. near the Bureau of Internal Revenue office and BMC.
