A man took a woman hostage at an ID lace shop on Recto Avenue corner Rizal Avenue in Manila, following a stabbing incident.

The situation ended peacefully after successful negotiation conducted by the Manila Police District (MPD).

According to initial reports, the suspect allegedly stabbed an individual prior to the hostage-taking incident.

Barangay officials confirmed that the male suspect was acquainted with the female hostage.

The authorities negotiated with the suspect who was later convinced to surrender.
