Actress Kim Sae-ron found dead at home

Actress Kim Sae-ron of the films "The Man from Nowhere" and "The Neighbors" was found dead at her home Sunday, police said.

The 24-year-old was discovered at her home in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul, at approximately 4:55 p.m. by a friend who had plans to meet with her. The friend reported her lack of contact to the police.

"We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death," a police official said.

Kim was caught driving under the influence in 2022 after she crashed her car into a guardrail and a transformer. She was fined 20 million won ($13,850).

Last April, she tried to return to acting by taking part in a play but following a controversy dropped out over health issues. (Yonhap/The Korea Times)
