An unimpeachable source bared that the two camps have already agreed to terms and are now only formalizing the deal that will see the one-time PBA Most Valuable Player take the court again – the first time since San Miguel retired his No. 29 jersey last May.

The source also added that Santos was thankful to Basilan co-team owner Jax Chua for trusting him and giving him the chance to play again.

Santos, even after his retirement in the PBA, believed he had plenty of gas left on his tank to help a team – especially like Basilan – to be competitive against the more established teams in the MPBL.

Now 43-years-old, Santos is adding a wealth of experience to the team, having played for 17 seasons in the PBA and was part of the champion team of the Pampanga Lanterns in the MPBL in 2023.

Santos bolstered an already formidable and talent-laden lineup for Basilan which also featured former PBA players Rabeh Al-Hussaini and Jervy Cruz.

Also part of the team are Enzo Navarro, Mon Rogado, Adi Santos, Jeff Viernes, Mario Baarasi, Jr., CJ Aurellana, Reymar Caduyac, Emman Calo, Sherwin Concepcion, Gab Dagangon, John Mahari, James Tempra, John Rey Villanueva, Clayton Medenilla, and former San Beda star Clint Doliguez.
