The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is inching closer towards addressing all the backlog in motorcycle plates, the recent indication was the completion and distribution of all the remaining yellow license plates for registered tricycles in Marikina City.

LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said a total of 1,223 pieces of yellow plates were delivered to the Marikina City and distributed by the agency officials along with Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro.

“The distribution of the motorcycle plates also marked the end of the backlog of license plates for registered tricycles in Marikina City. We are inching closer towards addressing the backlog of license plates for motorcycles,” said Mendoza.

Teodoro, for his part, lauded Mendoza for honoring the LTO commitment in addressing the backlog of license plates for tricycles in Marikina.

The backlog in license plates started as early as 2014 and as early 2024, the LTO already addressed the backlog of plates for four-wheel vehicles after the agency started producing more than 800,000 license plates late in 2023.

The LTO is now addressing the backlog for motorcycle plates, which it hopes to accomplish by June or July this year.
