Toyota discontinues lower Land Cruiser 300 VX trim level

Top-of-the-line or nothing

Toyota Motor Philippines: 'One SRP' for new Land Cruiser (LC300) nationwide
Land Cruiser 300 VX

It appears the target market of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 wants only the best and nothing less. Toyota Motor Philippines has quietly eliminated the lower trim level of the Land Cruiser 300, called the VX, from its lineup.

Easily the simplest way to distinguish the two is by looking at the front grille. The VX has a flat outer grille while the ZX has distinctive and thick horizontal fins on the outer grille connecting to the border of the inner grille.

The only choice for buyers of the status symbol luxury SUV is now just the top-of-the-line ZX. The main difference between the Land Cruiser 300 VX and ZX are bumpers with less aerodynamic features, smaller wheels, simpler side step boards, and blinking turn signals (as opposed to the sequential turn signals on the VX).

This is not to say the VX is not desirable. It is powered by the same 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel. This engine produces 306-hp and 700-Nm of torque. It’s paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission which connects to a part-time 4WD system.

Add an additional P342,000 for the Land Cruiser ZX and customers get more distinctive bumpers, larger wheels, more complex side step boards, ventilated seats, a power tailgate, heads-up display, and JBL speakers. The ZX also includes features like a additional Custom drive mode and a rear limited slip differential in its 4x4 system. The final exclusive feature is the White Pearl Crystal Shine exclusive to the ZX.

Perhaps the preference of the top-of-the-line model is largely due to the fact that buyers still have to wait anywhere from a few months to as long as a year to receive their vehicle. Given that long, it might as well be the top-of-the-line model. The 2025 Land Cruiser ZX is priced at P5,732,000.

Toyota Motor Philippines advises customers to just be patient. Transact only with authorized sales executives. Pay only at the dealer’s cashier. The team is working hard to negotiate for more vehicles each month to meet those orders.
