
Government anti-narcotics authorities confiscated on Wednesday, Jan. 29, around P9.7 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a drug suspect during a buy-bust operation in Tacloban City, Leyte.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that authorities nabbed alias ‘Budoy’ at around 10:22 p.m. in Barangay 25 Magsaysay Boulevard after conducting an intense surveillance operation.
Aside from the more or less 1,430 grams of suspected shabu, the operatives discovered one 9mm pistol and one magazine loaded with four live ammunition during the incident.
The suspect faces charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, RA 109591 (for firearms and ammunition) and violation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban.
