2 fire volunteers hurt in Binondo fire

Two fire volunteers were injured in a fire that broke out inside a commercial building along Gandara Street corner Soler Street, Binondo, Manila, on Tuesday evening, Jan. 21.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the injured firemen were identified as Jayson Tagalog, 20, from the South San Nicolas Fire Volunteer group, who sustained a laceration on his left index finger, and Kim Dy, 37, from Chinatown  Fire Volunteer, who suffered a minor cut on his right knee.

BFP said the fire was raised to first alarm at 7:43 p.m. and second alarm at 7:59 p.m.

Fire responders managed to put out the fire after nearly five hours at 12:28 a.m.
