Teen shoots farmer to death over grudges


BACOLOD CITY – A 51-year-old farmer was allegedly gunned down by a 19-year-old man due to grudges in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental on Monday, Jan. 20.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, DSB police chief, identified the victim as Nelger Zayco.

Villasario said the victim was resting near a fishpond when the suspect arrived and shot him in the back. The victim was declared dead in a hospital.

Recovered from the crime scene were four live 12-gauge shotgun shells.

The suspect escaped but has been identified, Villasario said. Follow-up investigation is underway.
