Initial investigation said the victim, Loloy, scolded his son, Barlono, for not being home the past days.
The suspect attacked the victim with a bladed weapon at their home. Barlono cut up his father’s body and placed his heart on a tree and internal organs in a pan. The suspect reportedly threw his father's head into a river and is yet to be recovered.
Neighbors informed the police of the incident and arrested Barlono in their house.
Two bladed weapons, a hammer, and a shovel allegedly used in the killing were recovered inside.
Responding policemen found Loloy’s body covered with mud.
Police said the suspect has a mental disorder and faces a parricide case.
The suspect, when asked in a TV interview why he killed his father, only replied: "Hindi ko alam (I do not know)."
