Makati cops arrest call center agent, crypto investor over P1.4-M illegal drugs


The Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested a call center agent and a cryptocurrency investor, seizing over P1.4 million worth of marijuana oil and shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City, on Friday, Jan. 17.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as “Pinky,” 46, a call center agent, and “Lulu,” 37, an investor. It added that another suspect, identified as “Jake,” managed to escape and is still being sought.
 
Confiscated during the operation were 101 pieces of self-sealing plastic with colors white, black, and yellow labeled with "POP! Carts" containing each one of the disposable vape cartridges with suspected marijuana or cannabis oil with a value of P1,393,000.
 
Authorities also seized two disposable vapes containing marijuana oil from the suspects, with an estimated value of P15,000.
 
Aside from the marijuana oil, authorities also recovered approximately 0.5 grams of shabu worth P3,400 and two and a half ecstasy tablets valued at P4,250.
 
Drug paraphernalia consists of five pieces of aluminum foil strip with residue of suspected shabu, two improvised burners, two improvised water pipes, three glass tube tooters, rolled aluminum foil, a disposable lighter, a weighing scale, a P500 bill buy bust money, 239 pieces of P500 bills boodle money, and two black paper bags were confiscated during the operation.
 
According to police, the suspects and the seized items were brought to the Makati City Police Station for documentation and further legal action.
