Diversified conglomerate San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced the retirement of its long-time Chief Finance Officer and Treasurer, Ferdinand K. Constantino, effective Feb. 1, 2025.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), the Ramon S. Ang-led conglomerate said Constantino will be succeeded by Wharton-graduate Bryan U. Villanueva as CFO, while Joseph N. Pineda will assume the role of Treasurer.
SMC stated that Constantino will remain as an advisor to the corporation and its board of directors following his retirement. He was appointed CFO of SMC in 2010.
Constantino also serves as a Director of Top Frontier Investment Holdings Inc. (since 2010), the parent company of SMC controlled by Ang. He is Chairman of the Nomination and Hearing Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and Corporate Governance Committee (since 2013).
He holds directorships in other publicly-listed companies, including San Miguel Brewery Inc., Ginebra San Miguel Inc., and Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd.
Constantino is also Vice Chairman and Director of SMC Global Power Holdings Corp., President of Anchor Insurance Brokerage Corporation, and a Director of San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation, San Miguel Foods Inc., Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corporation, and Northern Cement. He serves as Chairman of the San Miguel Foundation Inc.
He previously served as a Director of PAL Holdings, Inc. and Philippine Airlines, Inc. His extensive experience at SMC includes roles as Chief Finance Officer of the San Miguel Beer Division (1999-2005), Chief Finance Officer and Treasurer of San Miguel Brewery Inc. (2007-2009), and Chief Finance Officer of Manila Electric Company (2009).
Constantino has held numerous directorships in various domestic and international subsidiaries of SMC over the past five years. He holds a degree in AB Economics from the University of the Philippines and completed academic requirements for an MA Economics degree.
Villanueva has served as Senior Vice President for Special Corporate Projects – Office of the President of SMC since November 2023. He is concurrently Chief Finance Officer of San Miguel Aerocity Inc., a position he has held since 2020. He has been a consultant of SMC since 2018.
Prior to joining SMC, Villanueva was Managing Director and Global Head of Finance Sponsors Coverage at Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) from 2008 to 2017. His career also includes roles at Framework Capital Corporation (Singapore), UBS Investment Bank (Hong Kong), and Goldman Sachs (US/Singapore/Hong Kong).
Villanueva holds a BS Management Engineering degree from Ateneo de Manila University and an MBA with a Major in Finance from the Wharton School of Business.
Pineda is Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Finance Officer of SMC. He was appointed Head of Treasury in June 2021. He has served as Deputy Chief Finance Officer since December 2005 and has held various roles at SMC since 2005.
Pineda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from San Beda College and has completed coursework towards an MBA from De La Salle University. He also holds directorships in various SMC domestic and international subsidiaries.
