BACOLOD CITY – The family of Marvil Facturan, the Filipina tragically killed in Slovenia recently, is calling for justice and urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation on her death.

In a Facebook post, a relative of the victim shared that the family appealed to the Philippine government and concerned authorities to give immediate attention to her case.
“She is not just another case. Marvil was a daughter, a sibling, a friend, and a fellow Filipino who deserves justice,” the family who traces their roots in Negros Oriental wrote.
The family is asking for support during this difficult time, encouraging others to raise their voices and demand that the case not be overlooked.
“We can’t bring her back, but we can fight for her memory and ensure that justice is served. We will not stop until we get the justice she deserves,” the family said.
Reports said that Facturan was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a rented apartment in Bled, Slovenia on Dec. 29, a week after she arrived on Dec. 22. Her Slovenian husband Mitja Kocjančič was tagged as the alleged prime suspect in the crime.
Facturan’s mother, Vilma Pila, in an episode of Wanted sa Radyo (Raffy Tulfo in Action) aired on Monday, Jan. 13, shared her grief, and sought help from the authorities to shed light in her daughter’s case and bring her remains back to the country.
Pila said that her 27-year-old daughter met her Slovenian husband on social media in February last year, and was engaged with him five months later when he came to the Philippines in July.
She said that Kocjančič proposed to her daughter during her birth anniversary on July 15 and were married on July 29 in Silang, Cavite.
Pila said that she advised her daughter to get to know him more before entering into a serious relationship.
She said Kocjančič that spent at least three months with their family before heading back to Slovenia where he works as an online teacher.
Pila said that she did not notice any unusual behavior or negative attitude from her daughter’s husband during his stay with them. “Wala akong napansin sa kanya na meron siyang negative attitude. Maganda ang nakikita ko sa kanya (I did not notice anything bad from him. He was always nice),” she said.
Her family is desperate for answers as they have not received a clear explanation of what happened or why she was killed. They are is still awaiting details about the circumstances surrounding her death.
