Bulacan traffic enforcer hit by SUV

A traffic enforcer was severely injured after being struck by a speeding Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in Barangay Bagbaguin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan, on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 14.

The victim, Salvador Marquez Dela Cruz Jr., 51, a resident of Barangay Parada, was directing traffic around 1:30 p.m. when the incident occurred.

The driver, identified as Philip Cris Antonie Catacutan Baynito, of Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City, was arrested at the scene.

Dela Cruz sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.

Baynito is currently detained at the Sta. Maria Municipal Jail. Authorities are preparing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injury against him.
