Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza from Mexico married American influencer Ryan Proctor in an intimate ceremony on a beach in Naples, Florida on Jan. 11.

Surprisingly, Andrea wore her Miss World 1st runner-up tiara when she walked down the aisle, not her Miss Universe crown.

Before Miss Universe, Andrea won 1st runner-up in the Miss World beauty pageant held in Sanya, China, in 2017.

Andrea has always acknowledged her Miss World accomplishment and experience as an important chapter in her life.

Hola! reported that Andrea and Ryan first connected on social media during the pandemic. Then the 29-year-old Mexican beauty queen shared how their long-distance relationship blossomed.

“We met on TikTok and started talking on Instagram after my birthday in 2020. Since then, we began daily FaceTime calls until we met in person in Miami in May 2021," she said.

Andrea and Ryan got engaged in October 2023. They got engaged on Fifth Avenue in New York City during autumn.

"After accepting the proposal, Andrea and her fiancé posed happily in front of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, home to the New York Public Library. This place holds an extraordinary moment in their journey to the altar," Hola! reported.

Andrea and Ryan were supposed to get married on Oct. 12, 2024. The couple had to postpone their plans due to the arrival of Hurricane Milton.

"There were so many changes that we were dying to have the wedding and share it with the family. I wanted it to happen as soon as possible," she added.

On her husband Ryan, Andrea said: "Ryan is the funniest person I have ever met in my life. I think he is gorgeous, he is my best friend. I love spending time with him. I mean, for me, there is no moment in life that I don't want to share with him; like everything, everything that happens to me, he is the first person I tell, he is the first person I think about when something happens, whether good or bad, he is like my confidant. I have never understood why people are looking to escape from their partners. I love sharing with him."
