CAVITE – Authorities rescued a Chinese victim of kidnap-for-ransom and apprehended her abductor on Monday, Jan. 13.

A police report stated that the victim, identified as alias Lijie, was abducted near a restaurant she owns in Clark, Pampanga.

A few hours after the abduction, a joint operation by the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG), the Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG), and the Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) tracked the vehicle used in the crime along Advincula Road in Kawit.

In coordination with the Kawit Municipal Police Station and Imus Component City Police Station (CCPS), operatives found the vehicle and rescued the victim in Imus City.

Recovered from the scene were one gun and ammunition.

However, the suspect, identified as alias Xie, was able to escape on board another vehicle and headed towards Bacoor.

Bacoor CCPS conducted a dragnet operation, resulting in the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the getaway vehicle.

A visual search of the vehicle revealed firearms, including a long gun and a shotgun.

The suspect is now under the custody of PNP-AKG.

In a statement, Police Regional Office 4A Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth T. Lucas congratulated PNP-AKG, PNP-HPG, and Cavite PPO for the successful operation.

Cavite PPO acting director Col. Dwight E. Alegre, meanwhile, commended Bacoor CCPS, Imus CCPS, and Kawit MPS for their outstanding efforts during the follow-up operations.
