Quiapo Church adds sunroof to Nazareno carriage for Traslacion 2025

The Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, or Quiapo Church, unveiled new improvements, including a sunroof made of tempered glass, that will be featured in the "andas" or carriage that will transport the image of Jesus Nazareno.

Fr. Robert Arellano, spokesperson for the Quiapo Church, said significant enhancements have been made to the andas (carriage) of Jesus Nazareno this year.

He shared that this new feature includes a sunroof made of tempered glass that will allow natural light to shine upon the image of Jesus Nazareno and will also enable people in nearby buildings to see the image during the procession.

Alongside the sunroof, the church has also reinforced the andas with stronger stainless steel materials and upgraded the wheels to ensure better durability and stability during the procession.

Around six million devoteest are expected to participate in this year's Traslacion.
