The 25-year-old versatile guard highlighted the Pegasus’ wire-to-wire triumph with a career-high 36 points off six three-pointers on top three rebounds, eight assists and three steals with less than 30 minutes of play for a 114-77 romp of the Seoul Samsung Thunders.

Belangel, a former Ateneo standout, followed it up with another stellar output of 11 points, three rebounds, seven assists and two steals, sparking Daegu to a 84-77 triumph over the Anyang KGC Red Boosters.

The Thunders slipped to a 7-17 win-loss card while the Red Boosters absorbed their 19th defeat with only seven victories at 9th and 10th spots, respectively.

With their two consecutive wins, the Pegasus started 2025 with a bang as they improved to 15-10 at third place in the 10-team standings and also bounced back from their 88-81 loss to the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus on New Year’s Eve.

Last week, the former Gilas reached the 1,300-point mark in the Korean tournament, making him the 272nd cager to earn such a milestone. He will also take part, along with fellow Fil-American Ethan Alvano of Wonju DB Promy, in the KBL All-Star Game later this month.

Meanwhile, Carl Tamayo ended his three-game absence and delivered in crunchtime to power the Changwon LG Sakers against the Goyang Sono Skygunners, 67-64.

Tamayo, who ended up with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists, drilled a timely basket with less than two minutes left to make it 65-62 and give the Sakers their 14th win against 12 losses at fifth.

On the other hand, the Skygunners fell to 9-17 slate at eight place but will later get the services of two-time UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao
