Brand new cop cars to boost law enforcement in 2 towns, 2 provinces in Bicol
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Two towns and two provinces in the Bicol region have received brand new patrol cars that will boost their operational capabilities.

Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 spokesperson, said the Masbate Police Provincial Office under Police Col. Liane M. Van de Velde received one patrol car during the turnover ceremony in Camp Gen. Simeon Ola here.
Calubaquib also said the Camarines Sur PPO received one patrol car which was received by the provincial police chief Police Col. Virgilio O. Olalia Jr.
Recipient municipalities were Pandan in Catanduanes and Juban in Sorsogon. These were received by their chiefs of police.
Calubaquib said the vehicles were brought under the Changes/Adjustments (CICA) for Fiscal Year 2022 and Fiscal Year 2023 initiated by then Sen. now Education Secretary Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara.
She said that these vehicles have the necessary accessories and will be deployed in accordance with the existing rules and regulations governing the issuance of mobility assets within the PNP.
"The official turnover of these vehicles to their end users was conducted on September 9, 2024, with the honorable Sen. Juan Edgardo ‘Sonny’ M. Angara, secretary of the Department of Education, represented by Rhom Frias," Calubaquib said.
Calubaquib explained that these are expected to greatly enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and reach of law enforcement operations in the Bicol region.
"It further strengthens PRO-5's capacity to promptly respond to the needs of the communities it serves, ensuring the safety and security of the region's residents," she said.
"As PRO-5 continues to modernize its resources, this additional mobility will play a crucial role in achieving its mission of providing high-quality police services in the Bicol region, ultimately contributing to the overall peace and order in the area," Calubaquib added.
