BACOLOD CITY – Police seized one kilo of suspected shabu valued at P6.8 million from a 29-year-old drug courier following an accident in Purok Bomba, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Saturday night, September 7.

Police Major Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, identified the suspect as Carl, a resident of Barangay Villamonte, this city.
Fernandez said police responded to a vehicular accident in the area at 6 p.m.
The suspect, who was driving a motorcycle, overshot on the opposite lane while approaching a curve, resulting into a head-on collision with a car.
The car driver was unharmed but Carl panicked when police arrived.
Police recovered a pack of suspected shabu weighing 500 grams on the road near the bumper of the car and confiscated another pack weighing 500 grams inside the suspect’s broken sling bag.
The suspect was taken into custody for further investigation.
Carl said he came from San Carlos City and passed the area on his way home here.
Fernandez said they are determining the source of the contrabands as the suspect was reportedly ordered to deliver the items. He added that they are also investigating the background of the suspect.
The suspect faces drug and reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property cases.
