NPA rebel surrenders in Batangas


CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A New People’s Army rebel surrendered to the police on Saturday, September 7, in Santo Tomas City, Batangas.

The Philippine National Police-Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4-A identified the surrenderer as Lito Malaque, 51, alias Ebarra and Renel.

He was a former logistics officer and squad member of NPA-Banahaw Command during the time of Leopoldo Mabilangan, alias Ka Hector.

Malaque was tagged as Non-Periodic Status Report Listed and a Ganap na Kasapi (full-pledged member).

He was also member of Sammataal, president of Anakpawis-Tanauan City chapter in 2007, and second district coordinator of Anakpawis in Batangas.

Malaque, who was recruited by Roberto Natal, alias Ka Robert and Ka Santi, is now under custodial debriefing by the RMFB 4-A.
