Manila LGU gives P10,000 financial aid to 116 families affected by fire

Mayor Honey Lacuna and MDSW Re Fugoso with the fire victims whom they gave monetary assistance from the local government.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan distributed financial assistance to the recent victims of the fire incidents in Sampaloc and Tondo.

Around 116 families were given P10,000 each to augment their needs to rebuild their houses.

In her brief message to the fire victims, the mayor reminded them that the city government will always be there to help them start all over again.

Accompanied by Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto and Manila- Department of Social Welfare Chief Re Fugoso, they also personally proceeded to visit the evacuation centers where families affected by the heavy rains were also brought and taken care of.

She said the residents should always bear in mind that in times of fire, their lives should always come first.

"All material things can be bought again but a life is irreplaceable," she added.

She advised the affected residents to always be alert and be cautious of the things that may cause fire.
