DAVAO CITY – Police Lt. Gen. Michael John Dubria, a former Davao City Police Office chief, was tapped as officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP) effective Sunday, September 8.

A memorandum from the chief of directorial staff (TCDS) said Dubria would remain in the position until the return of Police Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.
The memorandum did not indicate why Dubria was appointed and where Marbil was.
Dubria was designated less than a month after he was tapped as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Deputy Chief for Administration.
Marbil and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr.’s photo with dismissed Bamban, Tarlac, Mayor Alice Guo recently went viral after she was turned over to them by the Indonesian police.
The PNP apologized and Abalos said he was not aware of what Guo was doing when the photo, which was intended for documentation, was taken.
