4 kidnapped Chinese rescued in Batangas

BATANGAS CITY – Police rescued four kidnapped Chinese nationals in Barangay Balagtas here on Friday, September 6.

The victims were identified as Lan Lai, 32; Wang Qing Feng, 23; Nang Ze Cheng, 31, and Chen Wei Wei.

Investigation said the victims were abducted in Pasay City by their countrymen. They were forced into an unidentified vehicle and blindfolded and hogtied and taken to this city.

The victims managed to escape from their abductors and sought help from a security guard who reported the incident to the police.

The victims were taken to the Batangas City police station for proper disposition.

Fatal fall

Meanwhile, a Chinese steel structure specialist plunged to his death in a building under construction in Barangay Galerang Kawayan, San Pascual, Batangas on Friday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Xiaolong Zhang, 48.

Investigation said the victim lost his balance while aligning the metal furring on top of a building under construction.

The victim dropped head first on the ground seven meters below, killing him on the spot, police said.
