LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – Three fishermen from Pangasinan were rescued in the West Philippine Sea in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte on Thursday, September 5.
Coast Guard Lt. Senior Grade Joseph Christian Sagun, chief of the Coast Guard unit in Ilocos Norte, identified the three fishermen as Coragel Carolino, 58; Ace Carolino, 36, and Ramon Fernandez, 58, residents of Barangay Lucero, Bolinao.
They left their homes on September 1 but their boat capsized on September 2 in the WPS in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur due to heavy rains and huge waves caused by tropical storm “Enteng.”
They drifted to Ilocos Norte where they were rescued by a passing vessel bound for Indonesia.
They were turned over to Filipino authorities and returned home on Friday, September 6.
