Bukidnon 2nd district district Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores has called out law enforcement authorities for their supposed "special treatment" of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo.

"Nagulat tayo sa kakaibang trato ng DILG, PNP, at NBI kay Guo Hua Ping mula noong kunin siya sa Indonesia hanggang sa makarating dito sa Pilipinas," Flores said, referring to the fugitive who was recently turned over to Philippine authorities,

(We are surprised by the different treatment that the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, and National Bureau of Investigation gave to Guo Hua Ping from the time that she was fetched in Indonesia and brought to the Philippines.)

"Special treatment ang nangyari. Mula sa Jakarta hanggang sa NAIA. Panay selfie at pa-picture sila kay wanted at suspek Guo Hua Ping. Trinatro nilang parang artista. Trinato nilang celebrity," the Mindanaoan said.

(This was special treatment. From Jakarta to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. They kept getting selfies and their pictures taken with the wanted suspect Guo Hua Ping. They treat her like a movie star, a celebrity.)

"Nagpaka-fanboys and fangirls sila doon imbes na alagad ng batas ng Pilipinas. Hindi ba sila nahiya sa kanilang asal? Nakalimot sila sa dapat nilang naging asta," Flores said.

(They acted like fanboys and fangirls there instead of law enforcers from the Philippines. Aren't they ashamed of their actions. They forgot how they should act.)

Flores also took issue with how Guo was presented to the media at NAIA.

"Tila ginamit siyang pang-socmed posts o campaign posters. Hinayaang magsuot ng face mask. Tinakpan pati ng puting sweater o jacket ang posas. May bitbit pang Starbucks bag.

(It's like they used her for socmed posts or campaign posters. They let her wear a face mask. They covered her handcuffed wrists with a white sweater or jacket. She even carried a Starbucks bag.)

"Nakangiti pa silang lahat nang magpalitrato (And they all smiled as their picture was taken)," Flores said.

Filipino officials need to explain their behavior—behavior that does not align with how a fugitive and someone being pursued by law enforcement should be treated," he further said.
