House appropriations panel chair backs judiciary's P82.4-B budget for 2025

The judiciary's proposed 2025 budget worth P82.4 billion is justified, if only to help it address the serious issues of case delays and court congestion. 

Thus, said House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Ako-Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, who expressed full support for the judiciary's proposed budget next year. 

Co recognized the judiciary’s strategic plan for judicial innovations as a crucial step towards resolving the judiciary's issues. 

The plan includes creating a Supreme Court (SC) management committee, digitizing judiciary libraries, and adopting new regulations to enhance efficiency. 

The proposed budget will support these initiatives and other reforms aimed at improving leadership, promoting gender-fair language, and upholding human dignity within the judiciary. 

Co urged his fellow legislators to approve the budget, whiich he emphasized as a crucial investment in creating a more efficient, innovative, and accessible justice system for all Filipinos. 

He reiterated his commitment to supporting reforms that would strengthen the judiciary and enhance the rule of law, ensuring swift and fair justice for every Filipino. 

The ongoing per agency deliberations on the P6.352-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2025 or proposed national budget are being held by the appropriations panel. 

The House of Representatives intends to approved the 2025 national budget on third and final reading before the end of September.
