1,200 farmers, fisherfolk in Legazpi City receive P4,000 AKAP cash aid each
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – One-thousand, two-hundred farmers and fisherfolk from the 70 barangays here received cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development's Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program on Thursday, September 5.

The payout was held at Embarcadero de Legazpi and initiated by the Ako Bicol party-list in partnership with DSWD-Bicol.
Ako Bicol party-list Executive Director Alfredo Garbin Jr. said that each beneficiary received P4,000.
"We would like to thank President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and House Speaker Martin Romualdez for this," Garbin said.
AKAP aims to protect minimum wage earners from the effects of inflation that tend to erode their buying power.
Garbin said they have finished the payout for beneficiaries here.
He added that families will be next and 60,000 individuals will benefit from a simultaneous payout conducted this month.
