PNP assures security of dismissed mayor Alice Guo

The Philippine National Police (PNP) assured on Thursday, Sept. 5, the security of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo on her way back to the Philippines after her arrest in Indonesia.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said that Guo will be taken to Camp Crame in Quezon City after her arrival for medical examination before she would be turned over to the Senate which has jurisdiction over her in connection following the issuance of arrest warrant against her.

“We have a copy of the arrest warrant issued by the Senate sergeant-at-arms and this is the basis that she (Guo) would be held under police custody in the meantime. We will have to make sure first that she is in good health before the turnover,” said Fajardo.

If there would be delay in the turnover, Fajardo said Guo might stay at the PNP General Hospital or at the custodial facility, both at Camp Crame.

Guo is expected to arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on or after 6 p.m. on Thursday.

She will be with Interior Secretary benhur Abalos, Jr. and PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil who flew to Jakarta to meet with Indonesian officials for the official turnover of custody from Indonesian government to Philippine authorities.

Based on the initial coordination, Guo is in good health after his arrest on Tuesday night, Sept. 3, at the Sandana Park Residences in Tangerang City, which is located in Banten province.

Guo, who is being accused as a spy for China, fled the country with her sister Sheila and Cassandra Ong, another personality being linked to the alleged illegal operation of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.

Ong and Guo’s sister were first arrested in Indonesia.
