ABANG LINGKOD Party-list Rep. Joseph Stephen "Caraps" Paduano has been designated as the legislative caretaker of Negros Occidental's 3rd  district for the remainder of the 19th Congress. 

This was made official during plenary session Wednesday, Sept. 4 af the House of Representatives. 

Presiding officer, Deputy Speaker Cebu 5th district Rep. Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco swiftly carried the motion to install Paduano as caretaker of the district vacated by Jose Francisco "Kiko" Benitez.

Benitez was recently appointed Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) director-general. 

Paduano is currently the House Committee on Public Accounts chairman. He is one of the four chairmen of the vaunted House quad-committee (quad-comm). 

Paduano is also a former House minority leader. 

The 19th Congress--which represents the first half of the Marcos administration--will end in June 2025.
