Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) rescued 18 foreigners and arrested two Chinese in a raid on another alleged illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub at the Subic Freeport Zone in Zambales.
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco said the two arrested Chinese, identified as Bao Go and A Hai are suspected to be involved in human trafficking activities. They were arrested in the operation carried out on Wednesday afternoon.
Francisco said the 18 rescued foreigners are all Chinese.
Seized during the operation were 18 desktop computers, 12 phones, assorted documents, bank cards, identification cards, passports, a safety vault, and assorted bolos.
“The search was conducted in a lawful and orderly manner, witnessed by Barangay officials and a representative from the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It was confirmed that no minors were among the rescued individuals during the operation,” said Francisco.
The arrested suspects, along with the confiscated items, were taken to the CIDG office at Camp Crame.
