Cemex's APO, Solid bag Domestic Bidders Certificate

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued the Domestic Bidders (DoBid) Certificate of Preference for Cemex Holdings Philippines’ APO Cement and SOLID Cement. 

Cemex Philippines said the DoBid certification assures consumers and government contractors that APO Cement and SOLID Cement products are locally manufactured and meet the highest form of quality standards.

APO Cement and SOLID Cement received the DoBid Certificate of Preference for its cement brands APO, Rizal, and Island.

The DoBid certification process involves a rigorous evaluation of a company's manufacturing capabilities through on-site inspections and audits focusing on the 5M of industry standards: materials, machinery, methods, manufacturing facilities, and manpower.

The company said its plants in Antipolo City, Rizal, and Naga City, and Cebu provide stable jobs and contribute to national and local economic growth.

APO Cement and SOLID Cement aim to meet the growing demands of the construction industry and support the government's “Build Better More” infrastructure development plans.

As a preferred domestic supplier, APO Cement and SOLID Cement can better serve government contractors assuring their faithful compliance under the Tatak Pinoy law, enabling the company to expand its reach and contribute to developing critical infrastructure projects nationwide. 

The DoBid Certificate of Preference serves as a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to excellence and its vital role in the Philippine construction industry.

Under the newly passed Tatak Pinoy Law, which mandates a preference for Philippine- made products in all government procurement, the DoBid Certificate of Preference testifies that APO Cement and SOLID Cement meet the stringent criteria set by the government for quality, capability, and compliance.

“APO Cement and SOLID Cement are proudly tatak Pinoy. We have always been committed to supporting the Philippine cement industry and local manufacturing,” said Cemex Philippines President and CEO Luis Franco.

He added that, “The DoBid certification will further strengthen our partnership with the government and contribute to developing essential infrastructure projects that will benefit the nation and thousands of Filipino workers.”
