A 25-year-old female motorcycle passenger was declared dead on-the-spot after she was ran over by a trailer truck along Mel Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday night, September 3.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the victim as Angelica Astor, a resident of Binondo, Manila.
Based on the police report, the passenger was onboard a motorcycle driven by Jerome Pascua while cruising along the northbound lane of Mel Lopez Boulevard Vitas Katuparan, Tondo, Manila.
The left side portion of the motorcycle suddenly sideswiped the right side portion of a tractor head trailer truck which was also traveling on the same lane.
The impact threw the passenger off the motorcycle and was ran over by the trailer truck, killing her instantly.
Authorities said both drivers are currently under the custody of the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) for further investigation.
