"I'm here" was Marcos' initial reaction when asked if he was hospitalized.

"Well, it's totally and completely fake. I do not even have a cold, I do not have anything wrong with me. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern," the President said after holding a situation briefing on Severe Tropical Storm Enteng at the Camp Aguinaldo on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Marcos said he was surprised when the rumors of him being rushed to a hospital for a medical emergency started spreading.

He said he was actually at the Malacañan Palace on Tuesday for a command conference and was doing paperwork.

"Yes. I had a meeting in the morning, I had a command conference with some of our commanders, and I spent the rest of the day reading my briefs and doing paperwork," he said.

"Nagulat lang ako (I was just surprised) when they said medical emergency," he added.

The Chief Executive also revealed that many of his friends also called him to check on him after the rumors came out, telling them it was just "nonsense."

"Tama, ang dami kong kaibigan tumawag sa akin, 'Okay ka ba, okay ka ba?' Wala! Kalokohan lang 'yan (Many of my friends called and asked me if I was okay. I told them it's nothing. It's just nonsense)," he said.

Marcos also used the issue to reiterate his call to people to beware of fake news and only trust information from credible sources.

"'Yan ang kailangan ninyong bantayan. Do I look sick? 'Yan ang kailangan nating bantayan, mga fake news na ganyan (That is what you need to watch out for. Do I look sick? That's what you need to watch out for fake news like that), unless it comes from a credible source," Marcos also said.
