Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto accepted the support of the Asenso Manileño, the ruling local party in Manila, to run for reelection in 2025 polls.

In her speech, she reiterated the significance of leadership and unity in governing the capital city.

Patunayan natin na ang tunay na lakas ng liderato ay hindi bunga ng pagkakawatak-watak ng pamilya at kaibigan, kundi sa pagkakaisa (Let's show that true leadership is not selfish... joining hand in hand and lifting up each other. Let's prove that the true strength of leadership is not the result of the disintegration of family and friends, but of unity)."

The mayor also took pride on the accomplishments in their first term, crediting it not only to her own effort but on the collective efforts of all of the city officials, employees, congressmen and city councilors, the taxpayers, and the residents themselves.

I am proud that everything we have done for our city, is with you. I will not claim any success we are having today. The face of Manila today is not only because of me, but because of the contribution of each of you to our city and the lives of its citizens)," she stressed.

"Sa ngalan ng bawat Manilenyong patuloy na umaasa sa pangako ng ating lungsod, kasama po ni  Vice mayor Yul Servo, buong karangalan at kababaang-loob na tinatanggap ko ang inyong muling pagsuporta sa akin, bilang punong-lungsod ng minamahal nating Maynila (On behalf of every Manileño who continues to believe on the promise of our city, with Vice Mayor Yul Servo, it is with great honor and humility that I accept your support for me again, as the mayor of our beloved Manila)," the mayor said at the convention.

She  thanked the party stalwarts who did not waiver in their support, such Congressman Manny Lopez, Congressman Rolan Valeriano, Congressman Joel Chua, Congressman Edward Maceda, Congressman Irwin Tieng, and Congressman Benny Abante.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Nieto also expressed confidence that the Lacuna-Servo tandem will prevail in the coming elections, given its accomplishments and consistency.

My request to everyone who is here to meet this challenge, that we look at each other with care, fight with discipline, dominate with respect, use courage with understanding, act with diligence like a march of a mother)," he said.

He said he is of the belief that at the end of the day, Manileños will choose and prioritize what is best for the city and the welfare of its residents and put their trust on the Lacuna-Servo leadership.

To Ate Honey, I know the camera is not your style but this is the time for every Manileño and Filipino to see the truth of your service for our beloved country)," he added.
