PAL increases flights to Australia


Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is beefing up its presence in Australia with an offering of 22 weekly flights to the continent starting next month.

In a statement, PAL said it is expanding its popular Manila-Brisbane service to daily flights, introducing a seventh weekly non-stop frequency from Manila to Brisbane from October 27, 2024.

The carrier now has the widest network of flights from the Philippines to four cities in Australia, offering more routes than any other airline.

In addition to the daily flights to Brisbane, PAL operates daily flights to Sydney, five weekly flights from Melbourne and three weekly flights from Manila to Perth.

"We at Philippine Airlines are excited to welcome tourists and business travelers onboard our daily flights from Manila to Brisbane, and likewise on our extensive network of nonstop flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth," said PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng.

He added that, “We are poised to intensify efforts to promote tourism between the Philippines and Australia, as we invite more travelers to discover the wonders of our beautiful country of more than 7,000 islands and the renowned friendliness and hospitality of the Filipino people.”

Philippine Ambassador to Australia Hellen B. De La Vega congratulated PAL for introducing daily direct flights between Manila and Brisbane.

“This enhanced connectivity will significantly boost people-to-people exchanges and tourism, and facilitate greater opportunities for trade and investment as the Philippines and Australia advance our Strategic Partnership. 

“I look forward to more opportunities to fortify the relationship with the support of Philippine Airlines,” she said.

Australia Philippines Business Council (APBC) President Rafael Toda said, “This schedule enhancement will aid to strengthen economic ties and collaboration between Australia and the Philippines, boosting productivity and enabling a swifter response to emerging business opportunities.”

Philippine Airlines continues to enhance services and expand its network, reinforcing its bid to be a key player in international aviation with flights to 36 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia and the Middle East, as well as 32 cities in the Philippines.
