Laborer stabbed dead inside barracks in Quezon


SAN ANDRES, Quezon – A construction worker was allegedly stabbed to death by his co-worker in Sitio Sigaras, Barangay Camflora, here, before dawn on Sunday, September  29.

Police identified the victim as Robin Capistrano of Barangay Ibabang lyam, Lucena City, Quezon.

Investigation disclosed that a co-worker of the victim heard a thud coming from the barracks of Capistrano. He walked towards the barracks and saw the victim lying face down on the ground. 

He told his co-workers and reported his discovery to a barangay tanod or watchman who informed the police of the incident. Police found out that the victim sustained multiple stab wounds.

Before the incident, the co-worker of the victim saw the suspect, Pablito, 40, married, of Barangay Isabang, Lucena City, who shared the barracks with the victim, leaving the accomodation with his personal belongings. 

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.

Meanwhile, a farmer stabbed his younger brother to death in Purok 6, Barangay Bagong Kalsada, Calamba City, Laguna, on Saturday, September 29.

Police identified the victim as Daniel Pidido Naval, 38, construction worker.

Investigation said Daniel and the suspect, Joel, 45, had a heated argument during which Joel grabbed a knife and stabbed his brother multiple times, killing him on the spot.

The suspect who faces a homicide case was arrested by barangay watchmen and taken to the police station.

The murder weapon was recovered from the suspect.
