Allen Ricardo aims to bring his wealth of experience from Letran's junior program to his new tenure as Knights' head coach in the centennial season of the NCAA.

Ricardo, who was the architect behind the Squires’ back-to-back championship runs in the last two seasons, wants to instill the same mantra to his players who are seeking redemption after a forgettable performance the last time out.
“You know why zero [cut]? Kasi we always start from the ground and we always stay humble no matter what, that’s why may reason bakit zero ‘yong pinapagupit ko sa mga bata,” said Ricardo.
“Para makita ‘yong unity nila as a team, ma-appreciate ng community at ng mga sumusuporta,” he added.
Champions two years ago, the Knights suffered a lackluster campaign in Season 99 where they ended up with a 2-16 win-loss card, tying the Arellano Chiefs at the bottom of the standings.
Filled with veterans and newcomers, Letran will miss the service of another emerging star in Paolo Javillonar who faces a three-game suspension due to “ligang labas” and Titing Manalili who, according to the team's main backer Strong Group Athletics, is currently nursing an undisclosed injury.
The Knights will rely on Kobe Monje, Deo Cuajao, Kevin Santos and Joven Baliling as they begin their journey Sunday, Sept. 8, against San Sebastian.
