Laborer electrocuted while urinating in Cadiz City

BACOLOD CITY – A 42-year-old laborer was electrocuted while urinating in Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Sunday afternoon, September 1.

The fatality, whose name was withheld, was a resident of Barangay Alijis here.

Investigation said the victim, who was having a drinking spree with friends, accidentally touched a live wire connected to a fence while urinating on the wall of a resort.

He was taken to the Cadiz District Hospital where he was declared dead.

Bizman drowns

A 74-year-old businessman drowned in the sea of Sitio Lamawan, Barangay Santo Rosario, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Monday, September 2.

Police Major Randy Babor, Binalbagan police chief, said the victim was swimming when he was swept away by big waves.

Rescuers arrived and a floating device and a rope were thrown to him but the waves made pulling him to the shoreline difficult.

Police said the victim hit his head on a hard object and was knocked unconscious and drowned.

A rescuer was injured during the rescue operation.

The victim was rushed taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
