Finnish man drowns at Hundred Islands in Pangasinan

ALAMINOS CITY, Pangasinan – A Finnish man drowned after he jumped off a boat in Romulo Island which is part of the Hundred Islands National Park in Barangay Lucap here on August 31.

Police identified the victim as Simo Taneli Tynys, 44, of Javaskyla, Finland.

Investigation said the victim suddenly jumped off their rented boat when he and his companions arrived in the area to swim.

The victim was found floating by his companion Dinah Lucero Riel, 38, minutes later.

He was taken to the shoreline by rescuers for first aid but he was unresponsive.

Tynys was taken to a hospital here where he was declared dead by attending physician Al Bryan Flores.
