As of 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, the Antipolo CDRRMO said the operation was still ongoing to find the bodies of the two boys.

The remains of two women, who were relatives of the children, were retrieved earlier in the afternoon.

Antipolo CDRRMO said that the landslide possibly occurred late at night on Monday, September 2, due to heavy rains.

It said that the victims' house was situated close to a slope, so heavy rains may have softened the ground beneath the house, leading to its collapse during the landslide.

Rescuers were having difficulty in locating the bodies of the children because they may have gotten trapped in a hidden "imburnal (drainage)" beneath the river.
