Vacant shanty yields P60-M marijuana

SADANGA, Mountain Province – Police discovered six sacks of dried marijuana stalks in a vacant shanty while on patrol in Mount Balitoc, Barangay Saclit, this town, on Friday, September 27.

Col. Sibly Dawiguey, Mountain Province police chief, said the contraband weighed a total of 500 kilos and valued at P60 million.

Police also discovered and uprooted 62,500 fully grown marijuana plants worth P12 million while patrolling Mount Chalimuno in Barangay Saclit.

These were documented and burned onsite and samples were collected for forensic analysis. 

Police sighted cultivators in the area but managed to escape due to the terrain.
